Believing In Hope

(Abraham) who against hope (as found in this world) believed in hope (as found in God), that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken (by God), So shall thy seed be.
Romans 4:18 - KJV
Abraham walked in faith in the spiritual land where the horizons are formed by hope. Hope from God was the landscape of the land in which Abraham lived. He saw with the eyes of his heart the scenes God's hope was projecting before him. In the midst of this scenery he believed. It caused him to believe for that which others could not imagine possible. He was seeing what was possible with God and he was believing for it to become reality in the physical realm in which he lived.
We think of Abraham as the father of faith but often in doing so we miss that he was also a man established in hope. That which Abraham believed God for was first known to him by hope. To him hope was his God-given vision within him of the future God had in mind for him. He saw what was to be and believed to receive. This is an important place to spiritually arrive at in order to receive your prayed-for desire.
Take note of the spiritual principle at work for Abraham. It can come into operation in your life just as it did in his. Our Lord Jesus declared it this way, "What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." Mk.1:24. Notice what happens, hope born in you by the Word of God brings you to the place where "when you pray you believe you receive". How can this be your normal spiritual experience? By pondering scripture until a precious promise is heard by your heart as spoken to you by God. The moment this happens you will, like Abraham, walk in faith in the spiritual land where the horizons are formed by hope.
Let hope grow in you and in it believe
