Every Child Is A Gift

Gazing at this child
I hold so close to me,
A Miracle from God
That was surely meant to be.

So innocent and fragile
with her little runny nose,
wondering if she will fit into
all those brand new clothes. 

So precious as I hold her
gives me such a lift,
knowing that in my heart
that every child is a gift!

This awesome gift from God
oh! so sweet to behold,
that when she was conceived
He also gave to her a soul.

As I lay her down to nap
the thought comes to my mind,
that we too are His children,
we have been all the time.

Though infant, teen, or young adult
or senior citizens, we sit,
Children of God we are called
and every child is a gift!

So, as children of the Lord
brothers and sisters we are too,
joined together by His love,
that shelters me and you.

A love so tender, a bond so strong
in His plan we all fit,
one can only smile with joy
because, every child is a gift.
