A Father loves his children as no one else can, in his own special way.
A Father watching his children grow, clinging to them, building his whole world around them, loving, caring, giving his life for them. Then one day one by one his children left home, got married and had children of their own. This was no problem though. With loving arms and smiling faces they along with his grandchildren visit day after day, weekend after weekend. What a blessing having not only his children but also his loving wonderful grand children coming to visit. This went on year after year and then slowly days became farther apart. Then days turned into weekends. Then weekends became further and further apart. What a lonesome feeling the father was beginning to feel. Then months, then special occasions started disappearing. What next the father thought with sadness deeping in his heart. Looks like soon it will be Christmas only. It wasn't long until the father was invited to a special occasion at one of his children's home. The Father feeling his children becoming more and more distant began hinting and doing things to let his children know he missed them coming around. The Father jokingly introduced himself in a way hoping that they would know he missed them. By this time, some hadn't been around for a month or longer. His heart was breaking, after all everyone lived in the same general area. Then words were said that reached into his chest pulling his heart to the surface and began to squish tears out as if it was a wet wash clothe. One child said “ we have our own family now, we are to busy.” The Father and the grown child's eyes meet. No words at that time were exchanged as the Father held back the tears in his eyes as they streamed from his heart. The pain he felt when those words again came back into his mined, "we have our own family now, we are to busy." Needless to say the Father had a restless night as these words came back into his mined. He began to pray and the thoughts came to his mind as he feel to his knees saying. "My Father please forgive me as I have done the same to you in my own way of saying" I have my own family now, I am to busy".
Each time we neglect God doing our own thing, working, having fun, golfing fishing, or just not taking the time to visit God as the children did their Father are we telling him the same? Are we to busy for our Father? If we are to busy for our Father let us face the facts, we are just to busy.
Join me and take God into your family. I'm sure our Father's heart breaks each time as we move further and further away in our visits our prayers, reading God's word or just taking the time to say I love you Father.
Happy Father's Day!
