Every day hundreds of ships set sell all over the world. Some are big, some are little. No matter what size they are, there's one thing they all have in common. They all have an anchor.
How about that one piece of metal can be lowered into the depths of the seas and prevent a luxury liner, as well as a row boat from moving. The anchor will hold that vessel until it is raised. The vessel will not move. If the rains come, the winds blow, the seas may roar, the vessel can't, will not be, shall not be moved. It has a solid grip on the earth below.
How's your anchor? Or rather, who is your anchor? When the boss has worked your last nerve, how secure is your anchor? When that husband or wife doesn't want to do right, how secure is your anchor? When your kids are driving you insane, how secure is your anchor? When the bills are due and you are broke, how secure is your anchor? When the doctor has given you a bad report, how secure is your anchor? When everything else in your life seems to be drifting out to sea, how secure is your anchor?
Here are some meanings of the word anchor:
1. To keep hold or be firmly fixed.
2. Something that provides a firm hold
3. A person or thing that can be relied on for support, stability, or security
*** Jesus is that anchor. No matter what's going on in your life today, Jesus is that anchor that can keep you from floating away.
I prophesy peace, joy, safety and security into your life today. My prayer for you is that this:
May that anchor hold you, keep you and Bless your every endeavor on this day. Amen and Amen.
