Selflessness

Old Mr. Webster defines Selflessness as: Having no concern for self : UNSELFISH

When faced with a decision or action which can impact our lives or the lives of other people, we have two choices: We can be unselfish and do what is better for other people or we can be selfish in our decisions and actions.

A basketball team wins games when each member comes together and unselfishly does what is best for the team. I believe it's time for people to step up, grow up, mature and realize that together, we're all like the basketball team... We all need to pull together and do what is best for others in order to have a world of peace and for all of us to win in life... Together.

Start by sharing. Your time, your self and your faith. Share. Sharing is important. More importantly sharing helps you grow by opening your heart and letting others see the wonderful person God created inside of you.

Have a heart full of empathy. Our needs are important. More important are the needs of others. Try putting yourself in someone else's shoes. You heard the saying "Walk a mile in their shoes?" Just for a moment take a stroll around the block on someone's shoes. Every new journey begins with those first couple of steps. Take those steps in their shoes. Realize what their struggle is. The tough issues that their facing. Being a kind friend is just as important as showing others how to be kind.

Giving just because. There won't always be something in it for you. Get over it! Be a grown up and realize that the best gift of love is given without anything coming back. A true expression of God's love is given freely. When you experience how good it feels to give away God's Love... You'll feel God's love grow in your heart. The more you give away... The more your heart grows. It's truly amazing.

Be responsible and be respectful. If you want respect... You have to give respect. Today is the day you are the one responsible to set the example for others to follow. Every champion you meet will show you this quality from the start. Be just like them.
