Pain

Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional.

All of our experiences live on in our minds.Sometimes we "nurse" our
Wounds...savoring them, keeping then alive to feed our self-pity and
Resentment. In my life I named this process "Curse it, Rehearse it,
And Nurse it."

When we first have the bad experience, we curse it. Then we rehearse
It by telling our story over and over. And we nurse it by keeping the
Wound open, alive and throbbing.

When we become obsessed with the pain, we wallow in it rather than
Learn from it.We pour salt on our own wounds every time we replay the
Circumstances that triggered the pain.

The experiences that pinch our nerve endings don't have to imprison
Us. Our freedom lies in letting go of the need to suffer, releasing
The situation with gratitude for the lesson, and choosing to be
Present in the NOW moment of our lives.
